Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 50 lbs
My pet is 2 years old and weighs 50 pounds she ate less than half a block of tomcat rat poison. I tried using hydrogen peroxide to make her throw it up however that did not work. It’s been about 10 hours and she’s seems fine. From what I’ve read it doesn’t seem like she ate enough to harm her but I’m really not sure and would like some advice

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Regardless of the dose ingested, it is recommended to at the very least start then on vitamin k which can help tremendously if in fact Roxy got anywhere near her toxic dose. This is an inexpensive and easy to implement therapy. She is not at a point that any effects are expected as it is too early in the course for that. I recommend that you have Roxy evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They could check her out and treat her accordingly. Good luck and have a great day!

The fact she vomited it up clears about 60-70% of her stomach is the amount digested and absorbed is significantly reduced. However, there are two types of rat poison, one is an anti coagulatant and another affects the central nervous system. The first is responsive to vitamin k, the other has no antidote. Tom cat brand is typically the neurological form of poison. Vitamin I will not hurt but it won’t help if that is the case. You need to watch for twitching or seizures and weakness over the next week.
