How to stop my young puppy from biting me and ignoring his toys?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 2 days old | 4 lbs

i have a 33 days old male German shepherd puppy. he's dewormed. the problem is that he bites humans rather than toys or chewables. i know he is teething but still... he never gives a single damn to his toys and enjoys chewing on fingers and legs more. he also becomes super crazy after pooping and bites with a very great intensity. whenever we pet him. he bites.

Some puppies can be very mouthy, and even when you offer appropriate chew toys they continue to try to bite and mouth everything else. It's important to remember that this is a phase, and if you are consistent in your response Tobi should grow out of this behavior. You should continue to offer appropriate toys and chews when he is biting you. If he is getting overexcited and not taking the toys you may need to confine him somewhere so he doesn't continue to bite at you. Try offering a toy for him to have in his mouth before you pet him and make sure he's getting plenty of exercise each day.
