Should dogs eat hours before bed for digestion or fat burning?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 3 years and 8 months old | 80 lbs

Are dogs like humans in the sense that they should eat certain hours before going to sleep for better digestion/burning of fat?

No, you don't have to worry about that with dogs. One important thing to do with dogs is to not feed them for 30 minutes after exercise, and do not exercise them for at least an hour after eating. This is to prevent bloat from occurring. I hope this helps!
