How much Acepromazine is safe for my dog before a vet visit?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Female | spayed | 6 years and 5 months old | 93 lbs

Bell is a German Shepherd which is 6 years old. very healthy. She weighs 90 pounds and I need to take her to the vet for her annual checkup. Can I give her 1 1/2 tablets od ACPROMAZINE 60 minutes before she is seen by the veterinarian?

Acepromazine is a sedative that is used in dogs, but I typically don’t recommend it for situations where a dog might be fearful. I also don’t know the tablet size so it’s hard to say if 1.5 tablets would be safe for a dog Bella’s size. I would recommend contacting your vet before giving any medication - they might recommend a different sedative if she is anxious or fearful during vet visits, or they may want to go ahead and examine her first to make sure medication is safe for her.
