How to get rid of fleas on our small dog without the guard medicine they put on their back? Is a flea collar good?

Comfortis (tablets) is what I would recommend as very effective and reliable. Otherwise here is a list of good quality flea (and ticks) treatment. Spot ons: Revolution, Advantage, Advantage Multi, Seresto ( collar) (ticks as well). Personally I don't recommend collars as they are less reliable in terms of efficacy. A good house spray would be Indoorex.
