My parakeet has bent his blood feather, the bleeding has stopped should I do anything about it?

Thanks for asking about Peetri. The current recommendation is to place him in a dark quiet room, and allow him to work it out. This is probably similar to people having a splinter. We work at it until it hurts, leave it alone, then come back to it. The process is repeated until the splinter (or blood feather) is out. In twenty years, I have yet to see or read a scientific article about a bird bleeding to death from a broken blood feahter, unless they have another disease or clotting problems. Good luck.
