Pet's info: Dog | Bichon Frise | Female | 7 months and 20 days old | 390 lbs
We find it hard to feed our dog because she doesn't eat when we give her food, and we sometimes need to "make" her eat it by putting some of her favourite treats in her food. Today she trew up. It was white and foam like, and that means that she is hungry, if I'm right. What can I do to make her eat without our help?

Vomiting does not mean a dog is hungry, it means Aira has an upset stomach. I can give you a home remedy to try to see if that helps her. Withhold food for 8 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. When she is feeling better, it's time to get tough in order to have her eat on her own. Put her food down in the morning for 20 minutes. It needs to be her dog food only. Once 20 minutes is up, pick up her food even if she hasn't eaten it. This next step is the most important thing: Do NOT give her any other food. No treats, human food, etc. She should not have any food until dinner time, when you put down her dinner. Again make sure it's dog food only, and leave it for 20 minutes. Pick it up after that 20 minutes even if she has eaten, and put it away. She doesn't get any more food until breakfast the next morning. You are teaching her she has eat when her food is put down, and she has to eat or else she won't get any other food. That's why it's so important that you don't give her any food at all during the day. She will get hungry enough to eat. Best of luck, I hope this helps!
