Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed | 6 years and 8 months old | 28 lbs
I've been treating my dog for a tick infestation. I noticed she has these brown and black spots on her skin, that are not ticks or fleas. This largest area is her belly (first pic) but she also has smaller patches like this on her chest (second pic) and sides. It kind of looks like dirt. What could it be? I think it's related to the ticks because she didn't have this before then. (P.S. I finally got off all the ticks and will be using preventative from now on.)

Hi, thanks for using PetCoach! The areas are unrelated to the ticks. It could be from licking or comedones, which are clogged hair follicles. Comedones can form due to allergies, demodex, bacterial skin infection or endocrine disorders. You can try a follicular flushing shampoo that contains benzoyl peroxide, example in link. Bathe twice weekly and allow the lather to sit for 10 minutes before rinsing. If she is licking and bathing doesn’t help have her seen by your vet. Good luck! https://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=21564
