Why is my dog's superficial eye ulcer not healing correctly?

Hi can you help me lily has just come back from the vets diagnosed with Wat sounded like a scud ulcer ? Don't know if that's exactly Wat she called it sounded like that She rubbed the top layer off with a cotton bud and we goin back for another check tomorrow She said it's superficial and these spread outwards not healing correctly hence rubbing the cells off Can u tell me Wat I need to Google for more information please Pic included

Poor girl. It sounds like your pet has a superficial corneal ulcer, which is typically caused by a cut or chemical burn on the surface of the eye. If it is not healing well, your vet likely did a keratotomy procedure, where they will rub the edges of the ulcer to stimulate new tissue growth and the infiltration of more blood vessels in the area to aide in healing.
