Pet's info: Cat | Bombay | Female | spayed | 2 years and 6 months old | 10 lbs
My cat Sebrina have been having trouble urinating. I've notice that she would go to her litter box every 5 to 15 minutes to urinate. Most of the time she doesn't pee, but when she does it would a small drizzle. She is eating and drinking water. This have been going on for about 2 weeks. What should I do? Should I be worried?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The urinary tract symptoms you describe could be due to a urinary tract infection, urinary stones, a tumor, among other possibilities. I recommend that you have Sebrina evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Further diagnostics would include abdominal imaging and lab work. Treatment would be based on findings. If she does not appear to be producing any urine at some point, that should be treated as an emergency. Good luck and have a great day!

These signs might be compatible with a urinary tract infection/inflammation. Stress related (idiopathic type of inflammation), infection and presence of crystals are the most common causes of it. A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is essential to confirm these clinical suspicions and treat appropriately. Antibiotics may be needed. Hope this answer was helpful, but please do not hesitate to contact us again on the forum or by requesting a consultation if you have any more questions or to discuss it any further.

Hello, Freya may have a urinary tract infection, bladder stones, or even a tumor in her bladder that is causing her to have urgency to go urinate. If this persists, if you note blood in the urine, if she has any belly pain, vomiting or diarrhea, then she should be evaluated by your veterinarian and determine if she needs medications to treat a UTI. Hope this helps and best of luck.
