My cat won't eat, drink, or walk. Is this a medical emergency?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

my cat hasn’t been able to eat or drink, but i think that’s because he’s having a hard time swallowing, and i don’t know what’s causing that. and he also can’t walk bc of his one leg, it seems to be in pain. i don’t know what’s wrong with him.

It is actually a medical emergency when a cat doesn't eat. This is because they will develop a fatty liver if they don't get for longer than 72 hours, and that is fatal without treatment. They have to see a vet right away, and you need to take your cat into the vet. He may not be eating because he's in pain, which he is showing by not being able to walk. There is nothing you can do for him at home, please take him into a vet immediately. Best of luck.
