My betta has fin rot. How to treat it in a small tank, no heater?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Hello, I have a betta and I'm sure he has moderate fin rot. Thing is I have him in a 1.1 bowl because I broke my bigger 2.5 gal tank. Ive been doing water changes and recently bought aquarium salt, bettafix, and Tail and Body Cure from API but I'm not sure how to use it in such a small tank w/o a heater... I know its such a bad environment but its not for long. I just need my betta to last a weak till I get a decent tank. Could you please give me a suggestion. I greatly appreciate your time.

A 1 gallon tank is fine for a temporary tank as long as you maintain water quality with regular water changes. You may need to perform a 30% water change every 2-3 days. One packet of Tail and Body Cure treats 10 gallons of water. You'll need to measure out one-tenth (1/10) of the packet to treat a 1 gallon tank. Make sure the water is at proper temperature. Bettas do best between 78 F and 80 F. Low temps can cause stress which can delay healing.
