Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 82 lbs

I have a 3 year old black lab, she is 80lbs and in great health. But she is having a hard time with her GI track she has been seen by 3 different vets all put her on a antibiotic and 2 put her on a probiotic packet all seamed to help but once she is not taking them she has runny stools yet again. Her food is Costco hard food organic with probiotic in it

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Piper! I would try a prescription hydrolyzed diet or novel protein diet. She likely has a food allergy. I would ask your Vet to prescribe Royal Canin HP to try for 2-3 months. Be sure she has been dewormed and has had fecal tests. It isn't wrong to do general blood work as well. More advanced steps would be an ultrasound and B12/folate/TLI and PLI testing for intestinal and pancreatic conditions. I wish you the best!
