My cat ate a little pork bean sauce with onion powder. Is it toxic?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 8 years and 2 months old | 7 lbs

My mom just gave my cat some pork bean sauce with a bean and a few pieces of pork rib, after I asked her not to. And my cat weighs roughly 6-7 pounds (she's a light built cat) and the ingredients are in the pic provided. My question is since it was only a little bit (bout like a half tbsp maybe less) will it be enough to hurt my cat?... I asked her specifically not to and she laughed and did it anyway saying she'd be fine... whats the symptoms of something that could be wrong with my cat?..

While there is onion powder in this sauce, it is not likely enough to harm your kitty. However your mother nor anyone else should give your cat any human food and onions and garlic are indeed toxic to cats. Your kitty should be ok.
