Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 3 years and 8 months old | 15 lbs
This evening after changing their litter boxes (2) he went in one litter box, then immediately went to the other one. He continued this back and forth about 6 times. All but the last time it seemed he urinated a small amount. The last time I didn’t notice any thing at all. Why would he be doing this?

It could be a sign on discomfort during urination, possibly secondary to an inflamed bladder and urethra. Cats can have cystitis (stress related, bacterial) He probably need some medication (anti-inflammatory and supplements) to resolve the symptoms. If you see Ickabod trying to urinate but not producing anything might have an urinary blockage. This is considered an emergency and need vet attention asap. I would also consider to collect a urine sample at home (there is an easy tool to do it: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/petconfirm-urine-collection-cat-litter) so the vet can perform a full urine analysis. Good luck and please post again on the forum if you would like further advices. I hope this answer was helpful.
