My sick dog got parvo shots. Is she pregnant? Is it safe for puppies?

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 2 years and 1 month old

Hello, I have a Labrador bitch 2 years old she was mated to a dog 27 days ago during her heat cycle, from 2 days she wasn't eating anything and ate few leaves and vomited , also had light fever I took her to a vet and he gave her 4 parvovirus injections I am not sure whether she is pregnant or not in case she is, will it be safe for her and her litters or not ?

First of all it is not recommended to vaccinate a pregnant dog, it can be harmful for the fetuses. secondly it sounds as she is ill and your vet should have never vaccinated her in her condition, it can only make things worse. if your description of what happened is accurate i would strongly advise finding a different vet if you need to take her back for treatment, which she will probably still need, as a vaccination is not a treatment for a medical condition, it is a way to prevent infections from happening in the first place.

    Hello. I am not sure what you mean by 4 parvo injections. Were these vaccinations or antibiotic injections? It is very unlikely that either of these would have affected her if she was pregnant. You can have an ultrasound done to see if she is pregnant. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
