Hello. Many dogs are afraid of loud noises such as thunder, gunshots, fireworks, & anything else they just do not understand. Some dogs can be conditioned to tolerate these noises with training & the use of recordings that get your dog used to things. It is best to work with a trained behavioral specialist for counterconditioning procedures. For short-term treatment for noise adversion, you could try a calming shirt like the Thundershirt, or use of a wonderful product available from your veterinarian called Sileo. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
