My dog has a large, stiff bump under anus, trouble pooping. Vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Boston Terrier | Female | unspayed | 15 lbs

Hi, my dog has a bump under her anus and it’s becoming quite large. I have noticed she does have some trouble defecating and it is very stiff to the touch I was wondering if I could get an idea of what to do and if I should take her to the vet or if she just needs the glands worked on. Thank you

It's best to take her to the vet within the next 24 hours. This appears more like a perineal hernia, which can cause significant problems if left too long. Your vet will be able to diagnose this and recommend the necessary treatment. I hope that helps and Julie gets better soon.
