My kitten vomited for days, eats little, soft poop. Is he sick?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Devon Rex | Male | unneutered | 5 months and 4 days old | 4.5 lbs

My cat was vomiting for 3 days - first day intensively, next two days much less. Day 4, no vomiting but he eats very little. He does soft poop, he's pretty active and happy. Is there a cause of concern?

I would have your cat checked out by a vet. I don't like vomiting to go on longer than 24 hours if we don't know what is causing it. Vomiting in kittens could be caused by food allergy, GI blockage, intestinal parasites, bacterial or viral gastroenteritis, IBD, among others. It is possible that he isn't wanting to eat because he is still nauseous, but he doesn't vomit because there is nothing in his stomach.
