Withhold food for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Monitor the litter box during this time for bloody stool. Monitor also for lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of appetite, straining to defecate or abdominal pain. These are symptoms that should be addressed by your veterinarian. Submit a stool sample to diagnose intestinal parasites or bacterial overgrowth. If she is behaving normally otherwise, you can offer a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until the stool is normal then transition slowly back to the regular diet.
