Pet's info: Dog | Jack Russell Terrier | Male | unneutered | 10 years and 7 months old

Hi need your expert advise, my dog has had blood in his poo on and off over a period of 6 months. Had bloods done twice in that period first bloods showed not absorbing vitamins from food that was all. Last weeks bloods showed inflamed gut nothing else so got antibiotics but finished antibiotics a week later the blood is back in poo , what is my next step to find what is causing this problem as he is not wanting to eat on a daily basis for ages now but coaxing and treats I manage a little food.

Poor guy. The next step would be to put him on a long term antibiotic, such as Tylosin powder and get him scheduled for an abdominal ultrasound to look at his intestines. The ultrasound can reveal more information about his GI tract and hopefully give us an answer as to why he is having chronic bloody stool. Hopefully it is just an inflammatory condition (inflammatory bowel disease) and not something like an intestinal tumor that is causing this. I wish you all the best with Sox and hope that he feels better soon! Take care.
