My rabbit isn't eating, has gas, and weird poop. Vet needed?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | spayed

I think my bunny has gas issues because I hear her stomach growing, and she won’t eat or drink much. I also looked at her poop a minute ago and it’s cectotropes instead of little pebbles. Should I wait and see for a couple of days/ overnight or take her to the vet soon.

Any loss of appetite and gastrointestinal issues like this can be quite serious in rabbits, so I would recommend having her seen by a vet as soon as possible. They may want to do some tests and keep her in the hospital while she gets the necessary treatment and nutritional support. For now, it's best to make sure she has plenty of water (preferably in a bowl) and high-qaulity hay and grass available. It's important not to give any fruits, vegetables, or treats while she is having this problem. I hope that helps and Bailey gets better soon.
