Pet's info: Dog | Yorkipoo | Female | spayed | 2 years and 9 months old | 11 lbs
My 2.5 year old, 11 lb Yorkie/Min. Poodle mix ate a sizeable tomato left behind by another animal eating the plants in our garden. She ate all of what was left (a little more than half the flesh) on that single tomato (about 2.5" x 2.5" in size). The tomato itself was not green, but more of a light pink color before the red ripe stage. Is there any chance she can pick up something from the saliva left by the previous animal? The ripeness of the tomato also concerns us.

You are correct that ingestion of an unripe tomato is more concerning due to higher concentrations of a substance called tomatine. But, it sounds like this tomato was not green, so likely contained less. Although you do not know what animal previously ate it, it is unlikely to cause harm to your pup. Keep an eye out for tummy upset, weakness, or wobblyness and if noted see your vet for supportive care. I have attached a link below as well.
