Cloudiness in the eye can be caused by infection or injury/inflammation. Luna should be physically examined by your veterinarian today. A complete physical and ophthalmic exam may provide a diagnosis. Tear production testing, intraocular pressure testing and staining of the eye may all be done to provide a diagnosis. In the meantime, place an e-collar (cone) on her to prevent rubbing or pawing until she sees the vet.

Cats can get cataracts which affect the lens of the eye. Based on the picture, it looks like she has some cloudiness to her cornea which can be caused by infections, ulcers, trauma, etc. She should be examined by a veterinarian for testing to determine the cause and prescribe medication’s to help treat the problem.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration or corneal ulcer, among many other conditions. I highly recommend that you have Jessica evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Further therapy would be based on the findings. Good luck and best wishes!
