Is Royal Canin a bad dog food? My picky dog needs a new brand.

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 2 months old | 19.842 lbs

Is Royal Canin a bad pet food brand? If not, then why many people said it's one of the bad pet food there is available? But, i still see most gives dogs/cats Royal Canin when i watch a certain S.Korean TV animal program. I'm thinking of changing my dog's food brand because she's kinda picky with it, but still eats it if i feed her by hand. Currently my dog's food brand is Pro Plan lamb flavor for medium adult.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding pet food. No, I do not believe Royal Canin is a bad pet food company. They do extensive research on their diets and offer high quality products. Furthermore, they offer veterinary support for product questions. Unfortunately, there is a lot of misinformation available regarding pet food. My top most trusted brands and Purina, Royal Canin and Hills. I hope this information helps!
