How long will my dog's mammary glands stay swollen after heat?

Porscha went through a heat cycle two months ago. Her mammary glands became very swollen. Well most have returned to normal. The last 2 are still swollen. Not hot. No fluid from area. Not sore to touch. How long will they remain swollen? Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Female | unspayed | 1 year and 1 month old | 88 lbs

Hello, sorry to hear about Porscha. It sounds like she is undergoing an episode of false pregnancy. This happens occasionally in dogs that undergo a heat cycle and don't become pregnant. This should resolve on its own within a couple of weeks, however, if she is not getting better or if she develops any discharge or pain, then she should be evaluated immediately.
