My dog has a growing sore on his nipples. What can I do about it?

hi, my dog (argos) male doberman, 2 and 4 months old has a sore growing on his nipples, he always has these but one of them seem to be growing more while the other in the other nipples have healed...he is energetic, and doesnt seem to bother him, is there something I can use to heal

Hello. Since you indicate that Argos has had these in the past & some have healed, I would surmise that this is hyperplastic tissue resulting from friction or chronic irritation to the nipples. If Argos spends most of his time on a hard surface, especially lying on concrete, then providing softer bedding may be curative. The other possibility is if anyone in the home is using a hormone cream or spray. This will sometimes cause tissue proliferation. But most likely, this is benign tissue growth due to chronic irritation. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
