Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 10 months and 16 days old

Jumbo has never been outside, she is a home cat but next month we will travel from amsterdam to kuala Lumpur and stay there for 3 weeks, I want take her with me cuz I will be staying there in an apartment but I'm not sure if it is healthy for her to travel such a long distance 12 hours on an airplane with 4 hours transit in between as well, she is a healthy cat but is it ok for her to travel long distance and will there be something to give her to calm her during the journey? Thanks

Personally I would arrange care for her at your home or at a boarding facility or with friends. That is a very long and stressful journey and it will add expense and worry to your trip as well. She looks like a happy cat and she could become traumatized during the trip and become more anxious or fearful in the future. If you were moving permanently then she would have to go but for only three weeks I would not recommend taking her. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Jumbo.
