When will my 60-day pregnant dog go into labor? What are the signs?

Pet's info: Dog | Lhasa Apso | Female | 4 years and 6 months old

My dog lhasa apso is 60 days pregnant..shes hungry but eats less and sleeping alot..puppy movements are felt..digging behavior seen..no milk discharge.. no signs such as panting seen..shes aggressive when i try to check rectal temperature..when should i expect labour? Any other signs to b seen?

Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The rectal temperature can help but sometimes it is not accurate. Digging can indicate stage 1 labor which is nesting and decreased appetite. Panting and discomfort can also indicate impending labor. I would say she is soon to go in to labor! Good luck!

    Keep an eye on Tintin for now. Take her temperature twice daily. A dog's normal temperature is between 101-102.5F. Once it drops below 100F, she should have her puppies within 24 hours. I hope this helps!
