My bearded dragon has never liked greens and always loved protein but now because he’s four I’m just giving him fruit and veg. I have to hand feed it because he refuses to eat otherwise and when prompted to drink with water on his snout he won’t lick it up for a while. Is it just disobedience?

An adult beardie should be fed a diet that is about 80% greens, vegetables, fruits and 20% prey/protein. Adults can be fed once daily or every other day. You can offer greens in the morning about an hour or two after the heat comes on. Sprinkle some meal worms on greens to stimulate the appetite. A shallow bowl of water can be left in the enclosure for drinking and soaking. Clean it as needed. You can also soak Rocky in a warm 50/50 solution of water and unflavored PediaLyte for 20 minutes every few days to maintain hydration.
