Updated On September 23rd, 2025

My cat is breathing fast and drawing long breaths even after two days of her pregnancy. She had delivered three still born kittens.

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! These are certainly concerning symptoms, especially with still born kittens. It is possible she may still have additional kittens in her uterus that are not viable. If so, this could make her quite ill. It sounds like she has having increased effort as well as breathing fast, these are both concerning symptoms together. I would recommend she be evaluated by your family veterinarian as soon as possible to make sure she is not having a complication from her pregnancy and to rule out other concerning problems with her chest. I hope this helps and she feels better soon.
