My dog has a red bump in her ear. Does it need a biopsy or is it benign?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labradoodle | Female | spayed | 9 years and 1 month old | 38 lbs

I found a new red, irregular bump on the inside of my dog's ear. She's acting normally, and it doesn't bother her when I touch it. Do I need to take her in for a biopsy, or does it look benign?

While I cannot definitively diagnose this just from a photo, this looks like a wart. I would observe it and if it changes color, grows, or changes shape have it examined by your vet. At this time I do not think a biopsy is necessary.
