Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | 1 year and 9 months old

So my cat has one month old kittens. Lately she had very bad diarrhea because of the parasites. I was wondering, could I give Ciki medicine for parasites cleanse if she is breastfeeding?

I would recommend that you have Ciki evaluated by a veterinarian. Necessary treatment for diarrhea will depend on the type of intestinal parasite that she has. Over the counter dewormers for roundworms or tapeworms are generally safe for nursing kittens. However, other intestinal parasites are possible, such as coccidia or giardia, which would need prescription medications. There are also other causes of diarrhea in cats that do not involve parasites, such as IBD, stress colitis, dietary intolerance, etc. Here is an article you may find helpful: https://www.petcoach.co/article/most-common-causes-of-diarrhea-in-cats/
