Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | unneutered | 1 year and 1 month old | 11 lbs

He threw up 7 times 3 days ago, and 8 times 2 days ago, its a medium brown color, liquidy, he didnt go to the litter the day he threw up the most, throught maybe it was his food, gave him a different kind of food yesterday and less, he was good all day, didnt throw up, went to the litter, pooped and peed, then this morning he threw up again, same color, but bigger spot, about the size of a dvd case, the picture is from today, that is all from within 30 seconds.

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I am sorry to hear Swirl isn't feeling well. With that much vomiting and diarrhea, I would be concerned for something serious going on internally. I recommend taking Swirl to a vet right away. The picture looks a lot more like diarrhea than vomit, but either way, it is not normal. The vet will perform an exam and probably recommend diagnostic testing. I would start with a stool sample to check for microscopic parasites. They may also need to check blood work and x-rays for metabolic problems or gastrointestinal obstructions. Once a diagnosis is made, they can start Swirl on a treatment to stop the vomiting and diarrhea and replenish the fluids he lost in the last few days. Good luck and kisses to Swirl!
