My dog is not himself after new food. How to soothe his upset stomach?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | neutered | 9 years and 11 months old | 18 lbs

I didn't know I had to slowly switch my 3 dogs food 2 of them are fine but 1 is clearly feeling under the weather not his jumpy zoomy self. I haven't seen any signs of vomiting or diarhea. What should I do to get him feeling better?

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. I am sorry that Kreeper isn't feeling well. If he is just a little bit off, you can try feeding boiled/boneless/skinless chicken breast with boiled rice in small frequent meals. This will settle most causes of mild gut upset. If he starts vomiting or becomes very lethargic, or has watery diarrhea, then have him seen by a vet, otherwise just give him a bit of time. Best of luck with Kreeper, and I hope he feels better soon!
