Hi and Thanks in advance for the reply... Our 5 month old shih tzu is very attached to us and is hard to leave him alone in our home whenever we go out, If we leave him he always makes mess in the house Now my question is, can we put him in a cage whenever we leave him alone in the house, will he be depressed if we do that, My friend told me shih tzu easily get depressed.... Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your question. Separation anxiety can be difficult to manage. Some dogs do well in a kennel While others exhibit the same behavior and caused a mess in the kennel. I would recommend using something such as NaturVet Quiet Moments calm chews with Melatonin which can be found online quite easily or at your local Petco.
