My new puppy has red eye and chafing. Is it contagious or allergies?

Pet's info: Dog | American Pit Bull Terrier | Male | unneutered | 25 lbs

Hi I just got a puppy from my neighbors who weren’t taking care of him. He has a red area around his eye + looks kinda Chaffed in his private part. Any idea what this could be? I will be taking him to a vet on Monday but wanted to ask Incase it’s contagious to my other pets. He is a beautiful sweet Pitt bull but I’m unsure of what I could do to treat him until I can get him to the vet. I’m hoping it isn’t hurting him. Pls help!

This could easily be allergies +/- an infection. These dogs are prone to allergies and that can develop into skin or eye infections. I would recommend bringing him to a vet as soon as your vet can get you an appointment. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach and Congratulations!
