Pet's info: Dog | Maltese | Male | 1 year and 8 months old | 10.5 lbs
My Maltese is completely trained to do his necessities indoors in a pad. I travel during summer and my father takes care of him in our house (so his routine doesn’t change). Even so, a few weeks after I’m gone he starts to pee outside the pad. Once I came back I trained him again. But im currently on a trip and he is beginning to do the same thing. Why does he do that? Thanks for the help.

Since the behavior only occurs when you are away and resolves when you get back, I wonder if it is stress related. There are a number of options to decrease stress. You could consider an Adaptil diffuser which would work for a month ( https://www.adaptil.com/us/Products/ADAPTIL-Calm-Home-Diffuser ). I have also had luck with Rescue Remedy ( http://www.bachflower.com/rescue-remedy-pet/ ) which can be added to the water. There are also a number of calming collars and oral supplements that you could try as well. https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/category/dog/dog-health-and-wellness/dog-calming-aids Good luck! I hope that was helpful and gives you some ideas. Thanks for using PetCoach.
