My dog ate a greasy chip bag. What should I do and watch for?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | neutered | 60 lbs

My dog a pointer lab mix he's 8 months old. He just ate a small chip bag filled with grease bits from our grill. I don't know what to do.

Hello, sorry to hear about Chase. You can have your veterinarian induce vomiting, however, this may not cause significant clincal signs. He may develop some diarrhea and vomiting as well as a decreased appetite. This is likely due to a dietary indiscretion, however this can also be from hime developing pancreatitis. If you note these signs and they persist for longer the 3-5 days, or if he vomits more than 3 -4 times in one day, or if he develops bloody diarrhea then he should be evaluated immediately. In the interim, you can feed him a bland diet of plain white rice, skinless and boneless boiled chicken, and low fat cottage cheese. Hope this helps and best of luck.
