My kitten has fleas and tapeworms. How can I treat them safely?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | 2 months and 8 days old

Hello I got a kitten at 8 weeks and took him to the vet for his first vaccine. The breeder told me she dewormed and flead him a week before collection. Because of this, the vet won’t do anything incase they give him too much. My next appointment is in 10 days But he has fleas and tapeworms now What can I do for him?

You can bathe him in baby shampoo or dawn dish soap to get the fleas off, because your vet is correct, without know what they gave him then it is not worth the risk of re applying anything. however, de wormers are safe and it is ok to treat him for tapeworms currently.
