Why does my cat shed excessively despite being healthy and brushed?

My cat sheds a lot. I feed him Tiki Cat dry Chicken and fish luau. He drinks water and has a bowl movement each AM. Just curious if there is a reason he sheds even after I brush him. Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 8 lbs

Unfortunately many cats do shed all the time! If he is having areas of hair loss/thinning then this would be concerning and would warrant a trip to the vet. If not, you can try a fatty acid supplement as this can sometimes improve coat quality such as Welactin feline.
