My rabbit's healthy eye is bulging. Is this normal after an infection?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Male | neutered | 4 years and 10 months old

My buns eye was infected by some bacteria as the vet said long ago and I know it's kinda logical there's distance difference between depth of healthy than the infected one (non-infected eye more out of the head than the other) but there is a really A LOT of difference it looks like the healthy eye is bulging up... is it normal to be really alot of difference

I am sorry to hear about your bunny. It is difficult to really see the eye in the second photo but it looks like it might have a corneal ulcer. If that eye is sunken in/looks smaller than the other, I would be concerned he could have a corneal perforation. I would recommend having your vet recheck your bunny's eye.
