Hi. I would like to ask if there's a chance I could get a rabies if I held my puppy that ny dog licked and then I forgot to wash my hands. I ate lunch at school and I didn't wash my hands as well. Will I get rabies? Please help

Unless you had some reason to suspect that your dog had rabies, I would not be concerned in this situation. If you do suspect your dog has rabies then I would recommend contacting your vet as soon as possible. Most transmission occurs via a bite wound. In order to get Rabies, the saliva of an infected animal has to enter your body through an open wound or break in the skin. Your scenario seems very unlikely to transmit the virus. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
