My 2-year-old cat hasn't had a heat cycle in a year. Is this normal?

My cat is 2 years and 10 months old. She went on heat last year this month and hasn't been on heat since then. Is there anything I need to worry about?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! While dogs have heat cycles 1-2 times a year, cats typically have heat cycles more frequently, even up to every 3 weeks. It is possible that she isn't showing signs typical of a heat cycle, but cats can develop an infection of the uterus, which can be quite serious. I would recommend she have a check-up with her regular veterinarian to have a physical and go from there. Good luck!
