My dog's poop changed color & is soft after new food. Is it normal?

I adopted my dog on Friday, I am in the process of transitioning his food. I have noticed that since Friday his poop has changed color and is softer. Could this be due to the food change and treats? Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Small (up to 22lb) | Male | 20 lbs
