My puppy is panting a lot. How do I keep her cool and prevent overheating?

My puppy keeps heavily panting and I don't know what to do. I have the fan on for her and try to scoot away from her; she comes close to me even after that. I am worried she's going to overheat. She has never been groomed/shaved and the groomer can't get her in for a week. The temperature where I live is 70+ this week. Any tips to keep my pup cool?

I am sorry to hear about your puppy, if she is still having heavy breathing then I would recommend bringing her in for an exam because a young dog this age shouldn't have panting lasting hours on end. Some pets like to lay on a cool tile or wooden floor to cool off when it is hot outside or a raised dog cot (can be bought online or in pet stores with a breathable fabric to allow airflow). or filling an empty milk jug with water and freezing can provide a cold object for your pup to sit next to if he is outdoors or your home is too hot for him. Once again, however, if your puppy is panting for hours on end I would recommend an examiantion as soon as possible by a veterinarian.
