My 2-week-old kitten is sneezing. How much amoxicillin should I give?

Adopted female kitten 2 wks old. Was given amoxicillin 500mg capsules for sneezing. How much do I give her, dilute with water, put in her food, give with dropper, How much do I give her.

Amoxicillin will help treat or prevent secondary infection. If the sneezing is due to viral upper respiratory infection, the amoxicillin will be ineffective in treatment. You could dilute it with water but without knowing the kitten's body weight, it would be impossible to determine the dilution (so you have enough for any treatment) as well as the dose. Ideally, the kitten should be examined by your veterinarian. He or she can dispense medication that is already diluted or reconstituted properly if indicated. Amoxi-Drops or Clavamox Drops are frequently dispensed to treat infection in cats and kittens.
