Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Male | neutered | 11 months and 7 days old | 111 lbs
Dog partially ate a pill. Gave my dog a treat, and he seemed stuck on it. I saw him spit something out and then I grabbed it. I put my hand in his mouth and grabbed out the rest of the pill. It seemed that he did not eat much of the pill. He might have eaten like 1/6 of it at that. He is a 111 pound rottweiler almost 1 year old. The pill was acetaminophen.

Oh no, that isn't good! Dogs suffer toxic symptoms at over 75 mg per kg body weight. That means he would have to eat well over 3,000mg of body weight. Given that he ate 1/6 of a pill, he should be ok.

If he only ate 1/6 of an acetaminophen pill and he weighs 111 pounds than it should not cause a problem. The toxic dose for dogs is about 150 mg/kg so that is way below a toxic dose. Monitor for any abnormal signs and have him examined by a vet if needed.

Dosages of Acetominophen above 100mg/kg in dogs have been associated with severe toxicosis. If Cody ate only 1/6th of a pill, he should be just fine, unless he is taking any other non-steroidal (NSAID) or steroidal medications. If he is taking any of these medications, you should get him checked out by a veterinarian. If not, you should be OK to watch him for signs of vomiting, diarrhea or lethargy.
