Is daily cod liver oil safe for my cat with skin irritation?

I've heard conflicting answeres from vets if it's ok to give cod liver oil daily to my cat. She has some sort of skin irritation that I'm trying to figure out, thought cod liver oil might help what do you think? Can I give it daily? Or is there another type I can try? Thanks. Pet's info: Cat | RagaMuffin | Female | spayed | 8 years and 2 months old | 5 lbs

Daily cod liver oil could lead to excessive levels of vitamins a and d and can also have high levels of heavy metals in also, dosage for a cat would need to be very small. Safer options are a supplemented skin diet or a fatty acid supplement such as viacutan
