My cat is coughing, not eating, and lethargic. Is it just a cold?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 1 year and 7 months old

We have a 2 yr old male cat. I've noticed that the last 2 days he hasn't been eating much and he's not very active. He also has coughed a few times. Could this just be a cold?

Poor Fatty! It could be a respiratory infection, but he could have something else causing his anorexia and lethargy such as a systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury. It is concerning when a cat isn't eating, as if they don't eat for going on three days, they become prone to a fatty liver. A fatty liver is fatal without treatment, so it's best to avoid that from occurring. I would have Fatty seen by a vet today who can diagnose what is causing his symptoms so he can be treated.
